STEERING AND SUSPENSION SERVICE

Why do I need this Service?

The proper functioning of your steering and suspension systems is critical to the smooth handling of your vehicle. These are the systems that allow the wheels to move in response to your input from the steering wheel.

It is essential to be proactive about your steering and suspension systems, as worn or damaged components will affect your vehicle’s handling.  The main components of these systems include:

  • Shocks and/or struts

  • Steering knuckle

  • Ball joints

  • Steering rack/box

  • Bearings, seals or hub units

  • Tie rod ends

  • Springs

In addition, most modern vehicles have a sensor within the steering system that activates select airbags.  To ensure airbags are not incorrectly activated, it is important to maintain your steering and suspension

When do I need this Service?

It is important to follow your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation for steering and suspension servicing.  The rule of thumb is to have your suspension system inspected semi-annually.

You should have your steering and suspension inspected promptly if you experience any of the following conditions:

  • Loss of control or the vehicle feels loose

  • Pulling of the wheels to the left or right

  • Noise or vibration when turning corners

  • Uneven tire wear
